Boiardo Fortress is the local headquarters of the Regional Winehouse, thanks to the renowned wine and enological connotation of the area and the relative production of famous wines like Classic White, Malvasia, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Lambrusco Grasparossa and other local wines like Scandiano's Spergola.
The Regional Winehouse is an association which has worked since 1970 and has now 243 members among producers of wine and balsamic vinegar, public corporations, sommeliers' associations.
How to get there:
From A1 motorway Reggio Emilia exit, take SS 467 ring-road towards Scandiano-Sassuolo; from Modena, take SS 486 "Passo delle Radici" road towards Sassuolo, then at Veggia take SS 467 road towards Scandiano-Reggio Emilia.
Coming from Reggio Emilia on National Road 467, turn right after the Tresinaro bridge and follow the signs to the town centre. Then take the fifth street on the left, Via della Rocca. From Sassuolo (MO), at the traffic lights go straight on in the direction of Reggio Emilia, turn left before the Tresinaro bridge and then take the fifth turning on the left, Via della Rocca. A large parking lot is situated in front of the main entrance.
Public transport: local trains for Scandiano-Sassuolo leave from Reggio Emilia Station; SETA bus service is also available.
