"Portrait of a Young Lady" by the Correggio. A masterpiece from the Saint Petersburg Hermitage Museum

Exhibition of one of the Renaissance masterpieces: the Portrait of Young Lady by Antonio Allegri known as the Correggio (c.1489-1534). In San Pietro Cloisters, via Emilia San Pietro 44/c. The event will not take place from February 25 to March 1, 2020.

The work, exceptional loan from the Saint Petersburg Hermitage Museum, arrives five centuries after its execution, around 1520, thanks to an agreement signed by the Town Council of Reggio Emilia with the Russian institution.

The exhibition will give the opportunity to reveal many still uncertain aspects of the painting: the name of the person portrayed, the explanation of the marks and the symbols adorning it, the purposes it was painted for.

Opening

Tuesday-Friday 10.00 a.m. - 1.00 p.m. and 3.00 - 7.00 p.m.; Saturday, Sunday and holidays 10.00 a.m. - 7.00 p.m.; closed Monday.

Euros 5.00.
Euros 3.00 (people under 18, disabled, ticket holders of the exhibition "What a Wonderful World“, membership card for institutions established by convention).
Free entrance (Friends of Palazzo Magnani Foundation, children under 6, helpers of disabled, journalists, members of Peggy Guggenheim Collection).

Entrance in groups every 30 minutes from 10.00 a.m. Compulsory reservation for groups of more than 10 people.

 

On the occasion of the exhibition it will be also possible to visit the San Pietro Cloisters, recently renovated, as follows:

Free tour
The first floor of the Cloisters can be visited freely (excluding the rooms that host the current exhibitions) from Tuesday to Friday 10-13 and 15-19. Saturday, Sunday and holidays 10-19. Closed on Mondays. Special openings: December 26th and January 6th: 10 am-7pm; January 1: 15-19; closed on 23, 24, 25 and 31 December.
