From Guercino to Boulanger. Reggio Virgin Mary, diffusion of a miraculous image

Exhibition dedicated to the diffusion in the artistic field of the miraculous image of the Ghiara Virgin Mary. In the Museum Palace, via Spallanzani 1.

December 7, 2019 - March 8, 2020

The exhibition focuses on the main marks of the diffusion of the worship and examines a selected collection of paintings depicting the Ghiara Blessed Virgin Mary's iconography; paintings made between the late XVI century and the mid XVII century, in which each one represents an urban town centre of the Po River territory and, overall, a large area that produced flows of pilgrims towards Reggio Emilia.
