Opening times

From Monday to Thursday: 9 a.m. - 1.00 p.m.
Tuesday: 3.00 - 5.00 p.m.
Friday and Saturday: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

The visit to the Museum has to be booked in advance, calling the Culture Office. They will forward your request to the Association "Al Castlein" which will give you an appointment according to the availability of the volounteers.

Extraordinary openings are scheduled during the Carnival days, S. Andrea Fair (November 30) and the Horse Fair (second Sunday of April).

Historical notes

The Museum hosts a unique cultural heritage made of 222 pieces, gathered in Castelnovo di Sotto because of the presence of the factory of masks (founded by Prospero Guatteri in 1810 and active until 1933), well known since the beginning of its activity for the high quality of the products realized and the skills in exporting the masks in several European Countries.
